World Humanitarian Day is a global celebration of people helping people. The theme for 2021 is centred around the impact of climate change and how that is destroying homes, livelihoods and even lives, but the general idea is how we can come together in support of those who need it most. 

Coinadrink Limited shares a similar ethos through our support of the Just Small Change charity. Just Small Change operates abroad in some of the poorest parts of the world. We have supported the organisation for some time now, so on World Humanitarian Day we just thought we’d remind you of our efforts and why we do it.

Our support of Just Small Change.

Our support of Just Small Change is owing to our close relationship with Peter and Jane Donaghue who are founder members of the charity. We are proud to consider the couple as friends and this has spearheaded our support through our Aquatek water division.

Just Small Change was introduced in April 2011, recognising the need to help those less fortunate. Rather than directly donating funds to countries including Kenya and Mali, the organisation enables people to build their own pathway out of poverty through small business development.

Just Small Change believes that with the right training and support, microcredit can unlock the personal and economic potential of some of the poorest communities. This helps regain a sense of pride, dignity, and purpose from their own personal achievements.

Prior to the Covid pandemic, Just Small Change has provided funding of £84,959 to their partners. 100% of all funding goes directly to where it is intended, with zero deductions for admin or fundraising costs.

Proud to help those less fortunate on World Humanitarian Day 2021.

Charity work is a key part of our CSR approach and Just Small Change has benefitted from our support. World Humanitarian Day encourages you to help those most in need ever since 2009, when it was developed in the wake of the bomb attack on the Canal Hotel in Baghdad, Iraq, in 2003.

Every year World Humanitarian Day focuses on a set theme around its main objectives, bringing together partners across the humanitarian system. It advocates for the survival, wellbeing and dignity of people affected by crisis and poverty, and for the safety and security of those who are working to assist.

Climate change is posing a major threat to ecosystems worldwide and the theme for 2021 is an attempt to pressure world leaders to take meaningful climate action.
