Rather understandably, hot drinks are extremely popular in the winter. Whilst many of us need our tea or coffee to get us up and running in the morning, the cold, January climes mean our hot drinks machines are working overtime throughout the entire working day rather than just the start. This is all well and good: we’re certainly not one to criticise the consumption of hot drinks in the slightest. However, while the hot drinks machine can’t attract enough visitors, your water cooler nearby is struggling for attention, and this isn’t good. Your health is at risk.

Hydration is rightfully a hot topic in the summer. For all the beauty of a warmer climate and the lighter mornings and evenings, it’s easy for a black cloud to appear if you don’t consume enough fluids, even if you’re not doing any strenuous activity. On National Refreshment Day, what could you be enjoying?

National Refreshment Day annually falls on the fourth Thursday every July, and is all about celebrating the refreshments available during the hottest month of the year. There is nothing better than a nice cool drink on a glorious summers’ day, and the refreshing sensation is especially moreish in the workplace. When the stuffy conditions of the office leave us feeling drained, you’re at greater risk than you think, and a cold beverage is what you need just as much as you want. As the summer holidays arrive, take note of our hydration reminders!

For those that are being picky, summer officially started on the 21st June, but does it really feel that way when the kids are still at school and you’re still awaiting that long craved for holiday?
