Hydration is rightfully a hot topic in the summer. For all the beauty of a warmer climate and the lighter mornings and evenings, it’s easy for a black cloud to appear if you don’t consume enough fluids, even if you’re not doing any strenuous activity. We covered many reasons as to why you must keep yourself hydrated in the workplace, ranging from the relief of headaches to muscle efficiency, but don’t think for one moment that you need to brush off the topic now that the winter weather is arriving. Make no mistake, keeping yourself hydrated is vital all year round…
According to the Met office, we could be in for the hottest, longest summer in years… But are you ready for it at your place of work? When the heat is on, hydration is more important than ever and the best advice from the medics is ‘drink a lot of water’.
Did you know, that when you feel thirsty, that’s your body telling you that you’ve already lost 1% of your water intake? Our brains need water to remain active and focused, and this means that dehydration in the workplace can have a detrimental effect on performance.
Unfortunately, as is the way with this country, good weather comes with more hope than expectation, though it never hurts to be prepared for the warmer conditions.
We at Coinadrink can help. If you have read our blog posts in recent weeks, the importance of hydration is something that should never be ignored, and we should always strive to drink enough water on a regular basis. When you become thirsty, its concerning to know that you have already lost 1% of your bodily fluids, and seeing as water is needed to keep our brain active and focused, dehydration can especially have a detrimental effect in the workplace.
Coinadrink are extremely passionate about charity work, and we always try and help out whenever we can. That’s why were absolutely delighted when we hear of success stories thanks to our good work, and it drives us to continue in the same manner for the future.
We have been contributing towards a group of ladies going under the name Ladies for a Better Life, doing so through the sales of our bottled water for our bottled water coolers. These women, based in the Western parts of Kenya, face the issue of poverty on a day to day basis and such a challenge brings a long list of issues that nobody should have to confront.
Collectively they have aimed to improve their livelihood by running small scale businesses, drawing inspiration from the name of the group as they strive to make a real go of it. Such troubling circumstances for these women can sometimes get them down, but the positive attitude on a whole is simply wonderful.
