Simpler Recycling Legislation: We’re ready, are you?
At Coinadrink, sustainability has always been at the heart of our operations. From reducing waste to promoting eco-friendly practices, we continually strive to lead by example in every aspect of our business.
With the Simpler Recycling Legislation now in effect, we are proud to reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and responsible waste management. This legislation, which came into force on March 31, 2025, introduces a structured approach to recycling across England.
What is the Simpler Recycling Legislation?
Businesses are now required to sort their waste into four distinct streams: residual waste, food waste, paper and card, and dry mixed recyclables, such as plastic, metal, and glass. This initiative aims to simplify and enhance recycling efforts, reducing environmental impact and supporting the UK’s net-zero goals for 2050.
How Coinadrink is conforming to the Simpler Recycling Legislation
At Coinadrink, we view this legislation as a natural extension of our ongoing environmental responsibility.
We have always sought to minimise our environmental footprint while supporting our customers in their sustainability efforts. To ensure full compliance with the new law, we have taken significant steps to integrate these requirements seamlessly into our daily operations.
We have installed additional waste bins on-site for food waste and paper/card, complementing our existing bins for general waste and dry mixed recyclables. Clear signage helps employees correctly sort waste, and our managers and team leaders are actively ensuring adherence to the new processes.
Proper waste segregation is essential, and contamination can lead to fines. We remain committed to maintaining the highest recycling standards.
Coinadrink’s additional sustainable practices
While the new legislation marks a major step forward, it is just one part of our broader sustainability journey. Coinadrink has long been dedicated to reducing waste through innovative initiatives.
Our partnership with Veolia allows us to convert used coffee grounds from customer sites into biofuels, diverting waste from landfills while contributing to renewable energy generation. Additionally, our transition from plastic to paper cups in all our operated hot drinks machines last year further reduced our environmental impact.
At Coinadrink, we believe in leading by example. We don’t just comply with regulations—we go above and beyond to adopt new technologies, introduce eco-friendly practices, and reduce waste across all areas of our business. The implementation of Simpler Recycling is an opportunity for us to enhance our sustainability efforts and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental footprint.
