A drinks vending machine is a great way to stay hydrated, especially if you don’t like or want something a bit more exciting than just water. The summer months are the obvious time to consider having a drinks vending machine in your workplace, so let’s run through the benefits.
Coinadrink has been in business for 55 years and to mark this magical milestone, MD and Founder Roger Williams agreed to go in front of the cameras to share some of his memories. We cut them into bite-size segments: you can watch them in any order. Enjoy!

When we opened for business, Harold Macmillan was PM and according to him, ‘we’d never had it so good’. I suppose he had a point: inflation was low, at just 1.1% and pretty much everybody was in work. The average price of a house was £2,670 – although such a sum would have bought you something pretty impressive in Walsall – and the average wage was £799 a year. A pint of milk cost 1/4d (that’s 6.5p in ‘new’ money!) and a pint in the pub would set you back 2/4d, (11.5p).
The best selling record of the year was Frank Ifield, yodelling ‘I Remember You.’ It was September before anybody had heard of a group of scruffs from Liverpool calling themselves ‘The Beatles’.

Paper cups have become increasingly popular in
recent years as a result of their extensive use by
Starbucks and Costa, along with most fast food
outlets. The consumer is therefore very familiar
with using paper packaging and perceives the
value of a beverage in a paper cup to be higher.
Despite this, plastic cups still dominate in the
vending sector, due to their competitive price
and reliability. The failure rate of plastic cups in
a typical vending machine is almost zero………..
Hard to believe that RFA (Rainforest Alliance) is 25 years old this year and as part of the celebrations they will be running a campaign called “follow the frog” in September. Sales of ethical coffee have soared as people recognise the benefits and these coffees are served daily by big brands such as Costa Coffee and Macdonalds.
