We have some fascinating facts about chocolate for all the chocoholics out there that enjoy a bar or two from our snack machines or Micro Markets. They range from stating what the largest chocolate bar weight is, the relationship between the smell of chocolate and the effect it has on brain waves as well as a unique snack made with potato crisps! Ask some people what their favourite chocolate bar is and you’ll probably receive a wide range of answers. The fact remains that there’s now more to choose from than there ever has been before and our preferred choice is truly unique to us. Now, though, there’s another one to consider. Brand new Cadbury Darkmilk is coming very soon, and those with a Micro Market should be particularly excited… Read more
I love reminiscing through old TV adverts. Over a month ago now I shared the dancing eyebrows advert with you and it quickly became clear that many of you feel the same. The reception the post received, particularly on social media, was incredible and the ad sparked fond memories. Now, I’ve found another Cadbury classic, this time with the drumming gorilla!
This week is the 14thconsecutive National Chocolate Week and it’s hardly surprising it’s been going on for so long really, is it? As far as themed occasions go, celebrating our love of the chocolate bar has to be one of the easiest to do. For this week, I have decided to do a little research into some of the facts behind the Nation’s favourite treat. Granted, none of us will care too much when we’re stuffing our faces, but they’re nice to know anyway, right? And some of them are particularly interesting indeed…
Ah, chocolate. It’s the most popular sweet treat in the world. It is believed that people around the world consume more than 3 million tons of cocoa beans every year, to which most are consumed here in Europe and in the United States. We all have our own personal favourites but some are more favourable than others. So, what do you think is Great Britain’s favourite chocolate bar? We’ll give you a clue. It’s not Snickers.
It doesn’t seem all that long ago since the Christmas holidays, yet we’ve now already hit Easter! In fairness, it has arrived a lot earlier this year, and Easter Sunday is somewhat early this year on the 1st April! That means it’s been a mad rush for all of us to prepare with eggs, weekends away and the like. Many businesses closed on Thursday and employees are enjoying a long weekend before returning to the office next Tuesday, but before you head back, we thought we’d educate you on some history…
You’ll find it hard to find someone who doesn’t love a bit of chocolate. It is estimated that approximately 1 billion people eat it everyday, and the average European consumes 15 pounds of it every year! The reason for such admiration stems around a key chemical. Chocolate contains phenylethylamine, which releases certain ‘pleasure’ endorphins in the brain that make us feel good all over. While chocolate is often regarded as a ‘guilty pleasure’, though, the 28th October is a time you can fill your face without the worry. This is because it’s one of the days that celebrates National Chocolate Day.
