When the going gets tough, reach for a coffee from your vending machine!
We all hit that point in the day when our body and brain can seemingly do no more. Maybe it’s towards the end of the day, the mid way point or even at the start, but there will come a time when we need a little shove in order to work to the best of our ability. It’s usually when we reach for a cup of coffee from the vending machine.
What is Adenosine?
It’s no secret that caffeine helps with fatigue, which we’re all struggling to fight against this time of the year. It’s cold, dark, wet and finances have taken a hit after a busy Christmas period. The concerning reality is that many of us lack that ‘get up and go’ for the New Year, so the hot drinks machine is probably seeing more usage than usual. A cup of coffee, with a healthy dose of caffeine, blocks a receptor in the brain known as ‘Adenosine’ which manipulates our minds to make us believe we are wide awake and have bags of energy. It’s just one reason why the beverage is so popular, particularly in the mornings.
How else does coffee benefit our health?
And we all know that when we feel awake and refreshed we feel better about ourselves. Which improves our wellbeing. For every 8 ounce cup of coffee that you have, it is believed to contain around 95mg of caffeine, so it shows how much better an average cup of coffee can make you feel. There are also other benefits, too. Regular consumption is believed to decrease the risk of cancers, strokes and liver disease, which in the long run will of course increase your lifespan.
Coffee leads to a more productive workplace!
The main point we want to focus on, though, is how regular coffee intake can lead to a more productive working environment. A new study into workplace behaviour has found that nine in ten workers believe high quality coffee makes them feel more engaged at work, proving that making employees feel valued is crucial. In fact, the research shows that 75% of workers across the UK feel high quality coffee in the office shows that their wellbeing matters most to the employer.
Install a hot drinks machine in 2019…
Here at Coinadrink, all of our refreshment solutions stem around the wellbeing of your workforce so this article isn’t actually much of a surprise to us! We regularly promote the importance of regular breaks and the article again supports the theory. Of those surveyed, 81% said that coffee breaks help them to build stronger working relationships with their colleagues, whilst more than four in five employees in companies with over 20 employees report that coffee breaks help to relieve stress!
The findings are therefore clear. Coffee carries more benefits than you think, so starting 2019 by installing a hot drinks machine in your workplace may be one of the best decisions you ever make.
