Welcome to the Coinadrink Limited team…Jack Westwood!
Our third new starter of 2022 is our IT Support apprentice, Jack Westwood! Following on from Matthew Horden and Annie Fennell, Jack started with team Coinadrink a few months ago.
Here, we sat down with Jack so our customers and followers could get to know him a little better. We talk about how Jack’s opportunity with Coinadrink came to be, and how he is finding the role so far.
At 19 years’ old, Jack decided to explore a different career path after finding that life at Keele University studying Computer Science wasn’t right for him.
An opportunity came around in our IT department as a support employee, which initially began as a voluntary exercise. It was during this temporary period that we spoke to Jack about coming on board as an apprentice, something that so many of our past and present employees have taken advantage of here.
And so, back in March, Jack joined our team full time, but he’s not the only “Westwood” within the company. In fact, his dad, Stuart Westwood, is our Senior Technical Support member and is one of our longest serving, most respected employees, having been with Coinadrink for 34 years!
How about that, then?
Jack now splits his time between attending college online twice a week and then developing his learning within a working environment here at Coinadrink. Since starting with us, Jack is responsible for a variety of tasks, from designing artwork to printing corporate material.
He has also helped streamline support within the entire business, having developed a ticket system that all employees are encouraged to use when they encounter a technical problem at work.
So many staff have already commended the ease and simplicity of this new system, but how has Jack himself found his new role?
“I love it!” was one of the first things he said to us. He particularly likes how no two days are ever the same, due to how varied his responsibilities are. Of course, he enjoys certain responsibilities more than others, but Jack’s “can-do” attitude means he does a great job with whatever he is working on.
He is also thoroughly enjoying his apprenticeship course, which started a short while ago in May.
Away from the professional world, Jack is a keen gamer and splits his time between his computer and Playstation 5. It’s certainly a great way to wind down after a day’s work, that’s for sure!
So, that’s our new IT Support apprentice, Jack Westwood. You’ll be hearing from Jack again shortly with a closer emphasis on his apprenticeship in particular.
Jack’s thoughts and insight will help form our next batch of “meet the apprentice” updates, so keep checking back on social media for those!
