Meet the Apprentice on National Apprenticeship Week 2021: Simran Salan
Day three of National Apprenticeship Week 2021! And due to our very own apprenticeship scheme we have here at Coinadrink, we have lots of stories to share from our own team members here at the company.
Following Alistair and Julie’s stories this week, now Simran Salan has her own story to share on her Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship Level 6 (CMDA)!
Simran works across the Sales and Marketing departments and is a valuable member of our team here at Coinadrink Limited. Around her studies, Simran assists with day-to-day operations in how we communicate with our current and prospective customers.
Her current Management Apprenticeship has been ongoing for nearly a year now. In her own words, here is how she is finding the experience so far and how Coinadrink have helped with support and guidance.
1. What is your current apprenticeship course?
My current course is the Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship Level 6 (CMDA).
2. What were your initial fears and how did Coinadrink help you overcome these?
My fears about learning on the CMDA course was the change from college to university in terms of the work, assignments and general content. However, considering I did my two-year placement for BTEC business level 3 at Coinadrink, I have found it to be a comfortable move to make.
The other fear I initially had was regarding the working environment and whether I would fit in. Again, this wasn’t an issue because I felt supported and received the appropriate guidance.
3. What are the main skills you feel you have learnt?
I am hoping to develop much more experience in the vending industry in general, considering this is an industry I have had no prior knowledge of. To date, I feel I am developing much more skills in Digital Marketing and using programmes such as Adobe and Canva to better communicate with our customers.
I also feel I am progressing my professional communication skills more, largely helped through the networking and training events that I have attended. This will help me with my long-term aspects.
4. How has Coinadrink supported you throughout the course?
The constant support and guidance from my colleagues and assessor has given me the confidence I need to succeed in my current role, which is very pro-active and driven.
There is always someone to lend a hand when I need it, so I am never afraid to ask for help.
5. Would you recommend an apprenticeship to a friend? If so, why?
YES! 100%. This way, there is a blended approach to learning. An apprenticeship allows you to gain experience and the qualification at the same time. I prefer to be “hands on” when learning and doing things practically which is why I thoroughly enjoy working with Coinadrink and UCB.

We are very proud of the way Simran has adapted to her apprenticeship right from the beginning and she has handled the responsibility very well. She is an excellent team member, and we can’t wait to see how her course progresses moving forward.
We will have more stories from our team over the course of the week, as a way to mark National Apprenticeship 2021. Read about our Digital Marketing Specialist Alistair Ward who has almost completed his Digital Marketing Apprenticeship, or view Julie Jones’ story from yesterday, our Customer and Business Development Administrator who has just enrolled on Sales Apprenticeship to boost her knowledge.
As always, keep your eyes peeled for tomorrow’s article…
