‘Made In The Midlands’ – We’ll Be Back!

Attending exhibitions is considered to be one of the best ways to get your business ‘out there’ – but it’s a huge commitment in terms of time, manpower and, of course, cost.
This year, we bit the bullet by attending the ‘Made In The Midlands’ exhibition and are we glad we did! Made in the Midlands is a full-day event which brings together the very best of Midlands manufacturing and engineering services from across a wide variety of sectors, including Aerospace, Automotive; Rail, Marine; Medical and Oil & Gas.
In other words, all our customers and – just as importantly – all our potential customers! That’s why we packed-up our favourite Coffeetek Zen Espresso coffee machine and assembled a complement of four experienced staff to travel just a few miles down the road to be a part of it.
We got lucky: this year’s exhibition, held at GTG Training in Wolverhampton, was the biggest and best yet, with 150 exhibitors and more than 2,000 visitors.
The organisers say that the exhibition ‘provides the ideal platform for networking with a view to doing more business and meeting like-minded companies from across the Midlands region’ and that’s exactly what it did.
We were delighted with the response on our stand. At the end of the day we were shattered, but it had been worth it: we took more that 30 really solid enquiries from local businesses that were interested in, and impressed by, the services we offer. We’ll spend the next few weeks making appointments to follow up those enquiries and hopefully, we’ll turn them into new business.
Apart from the successful gathering of all those leads, it was great to rub shoulders with other businesses in our area and to discover that our region is once more a thriving hub of industry and commerce.
The smokestack chimneys and the grime that once defined ‘The Black Country’ may be consigned to history these days; but once again, we’ve taken out place at the heart of British enterprise. It was great to share in such a dynamic event and one thing’s for sure: we’ll be back next year!
