We regularly speak of our charitable nature, and much of our 55 year history has stemmed around raising money for some fantastic organisations. Just Small Change is one that we are currently supporting, and we hold a very special relationship with both Peter and Jane Donaghue who founded the organisation in 2011. Peter and Jane recently joined us at our 55th party night back in January, and we regard them as firm friends of ours.
Just Small Change – A background.
Just Small Change is a microfinance charity that works away from UK shores, making a difference to some of the poorest parts of the world. They provide business training and small scale loans to help residents of Kenya, particularly underprivileged women, to build a bridge out of poverty through small business development and make a meaningful life for themselves and their family. The kindness of Peter and Jane Donaghue has raised awareness of the issues here in the UK, and there have been many success stories to speak of. Coinadrink donate to the organisation through the sales of our bottled water, and we’re keen to help the efforts of Peter and Jane where we can.

Saturday 27thJanuary saw us celebrate our 55thbirthday in style. The National Motor Cycle Museum in Solihull played host to an excellent party that saw over 300 people attend, featuring staff and their guests and suppliers.
Quality food and entertainment rounded off a superb event, and it was one that showed our appreciation to those that have helped us achieve such longevity and success.
Behind the joyous atmosphere was a charitable background. We committed to raising money for both Acorns and Just Small Change through a selection of prize draws and auctions, and we were delighted to obtain £1500 for the latter thanks to the generosity of those in attendance.

We were thrilled to welcome Peter and Jane into Coinadrink recently. It was great to catch up with the couple and chat about the latest developments for both Just Small Change and Coinadrink Ltd, and it was exciting to envisage the future in store for both organisations. We also took the opportunity to present the cheque of £1500, which was done so by MD Roger Williams in our boardroom.
Peter and Jane said that: “this donation allows 15 businesses to be created and an opportunity that many disadvantaged people and their families in Kenya can only dream about.”
On hearing the news about Coinadrink’s donation, Angeline Awuor Olando, programme co-ordinator in Kenya wrote: “Once more thank you very much for the commitment to our people. Your dedication and support makes a great difference in the lives of the less privileged grass root community.”
It was an absolute honour to raise the funds for Just Small Change, and we’re sure it will make a big difference to help those who really need it most!
