Independent Research Establishes £500 per annum saving with Marco’s Ecoboiler
Independent research has established considerable savings on energy consumption to be made by using Marco’s T10 Ecoboiler rather than one of its branded competitors.
In fact, when compared to the worse performing water boiler on test, the T10 could save caterers almost £500 per annum is energy costs.
Leading European manufacturer of water boilers, Marco Beverage Systems, has had it best-selling water boiler, the Ecoboiler T10, independently tested to verify its energy efficiency. The results have astounded Marco’s technical team, since the energy saving claims the company has been making have been vastly understated.
Launched five years ago, the Ecoboiler range has rapidly become the benchmark for water boilers in the UK market. The launch rationale was that with the soaring price of energy, considering purchase price alone was a mistake. The lifetime costs of the boiler should be considered and that meant minimising energy use. Since then Marco had had a rolling programme to further improve efficiency, introducing improved insulation, a redesigned boiler configuration, a half fill “Eco mode”, for the use in quieter periods and an engineer adjustable temperature setting. The company has known that the Ecoboiler was more efficient than its rivals, but the savings over the competition are far greater than estimated.
Marco commissioned independent research from Compliance Engineering, based in County Meath, Ireland. The tested the Ecoboiler T10 against the equivalent model from five competitors and conducted a series of energy consumption tests. In every test, the Ecoboiler proved to be more efficient than all of the other models tested. It used 37% less electricity than the next best boiler and 56% less than the worst.
The overall conclusion made by compliance Engineering, was that, based on regular daily use, the Ecoboiler T10 could save caterers up to £494 in a single year on the running cost of just one boiler. On a site with multiple water boilers, the saving will run into tens of thousands of pounds.
Reviewing the findings, Marketing Manager, Cathal Burke, commented: “These figures are well ahead of the estimates we made before the research was conducted. It proves emphatically what we have been saying for years, that the purchase price is just a small part of the overall cost of a water boiler, Caterers should consider their water boiler choice not just on purchase price, but on lifetime costs. By that I mean taking running costs into account – and as we have proven, there is a vast difference between Marco as the nest performer and the rest”.
