Coinadrink Limited is an accredited real living wage employer!
From when Coinadrink Limited first opened our doors on February 3rd, 1962, founder Roger Williams planted a long-standing commitment to value our employees and always show appreciation for the work that they do.
For over 60 year this has been deeply ingrained in the foundations of our business. Today, we are delighted to announce that our commitment has again been recognised. We have been officially accredited as a “real” living wage employer!
What is a “real living wage” employer?
Being an accredited real living wage employer, Coinadrink has proven that we value our staff enough to pay all team members what we can afford as opposed to what we can get away with.
This goes beyond the national minimum wage and even the national living wage. Unlike those two statutory pay grades, the “real” living wage is a voluntary project that, crucially, better meets the rising costs of everyday life.
It is independently calculated based on what people need to get by. Outside of London, this is set at £10.90 per hour, with rates constantly analysed and adjusted to suit.
The cost of living is affecting us all now more than ever and nobody is exempt. From a particularly expensive weekly shop to a surprise and costly trip to the dentist, the “real” living wage ensures workers are better equipped to deal with the crisis.
Coinadrink is a vending and refreshment operator that looks after its staff. Our official “real living wage employer” accreditation is a mark of our commitment.
What does this mean for our employees and wider business?
According to the official foundation, 93% of the 12000 UK business that voluntarily pay the real national living wage are consistently experiencing the benefits of doing so.
75% say it has increased motivation and retention rates, whilst 58% believe it has improved the relationship between managers and their staff. In short, then, employees are happier and motivated to work for a company that supports both their finances and therefore overall wellbeing.
These are all benefits that Coinadrink can relate to. We care for our staff in more ways than just pay, and between all of our incentives we have built a company culture that our team are happy to operate under.
Today, our average length of service stands at a very impressive 12.9 years. And we host an annual “long service dinner” every year for those employees that have been with us for over 25 years, where we celebrate their long-standing efforts.
The amount of people that attend this grows almost every year!
It is our staff that have helped us to become the trusted West Midlands vending machine and refreshment operator that we are today.
From our sales and customer care team to our field-based engineers and operators that deliver our service and support promises from the front line, we wouldn’t be where we are without our employees both past and present.
Being an official real living wage employer is another way that we give something back.
Another official accreditation to add to a long line!
Coinadrink is thrilled to be an approved real living wage employer. This accreditation is the latest in a long line.
