Birchall tea takes 10 plaudits at the 2014 great taste awards
Birchall tea has experienced a roaring at the 2014 great taste awards – the ‘Oscars’ of the classic food and drink industry. Impressively from 5 different award categories, the British tea company experienced 10 winners from a range of their products include green tea, blended tea and herbal infusion.
This is an excellent achievement while the brands’ signature Great Rift breakfast blend claimed an excellent Gold Star award for the fourth year in succession to just emphasise their classy reputation as one of the globe’s biggest producers of black tea. To add to that, the brand also scooped the best-in-class honours for decaffeinated tea with the new Great Rift Decaf product.
And if that wasn’t enough, the awards just kept on rolling in. Birchall Organic Redbush won three gold stars – the highest honour received at the awards – and after they also retrieved accolades for its pure Green Tea, Peppermint and Camomile, Birchall teas have now won in every tea category at the Great Taste Awards dating back to 2011.
The Great Taste Awards is the world’s largest and most thorough food awards scheme while the fact that it is now entering its 21st year shows that it is very well respected. Organised by the Guild of Fine Food, the winners of the credible awards are selected by the ultimate food and drink jury which includes top chefs, food critics and fine food retailers. No pressure then…
Birchall tea will be showcasing at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair at the London Olympia, between the 7th and 9th of September.
