An update on our Sales Apprentice, Alistair Ward.
Three months ago on National Apprenticeship Week, you met Alistair Ward. Alistair was just about to start his Sales Apprenticeship course and he spoke to us about his thoughts going into it. If you want to read that article, you can do so here.
Now well into his apprenticeship, we catch up with him again to discuss how he has found it so far. He details what he is learning and how is managing to apply that to his role as our Digital Marketing Specialist. He also explains how Coinadrink Limited the vending machine company have provided their unwavering support.
1. How are you finding your apprenticeship so far?
I am really enjoying it. To begin I was a little nervous about going out my comfort zone with a Sales course, but I am gaining invaluable experience and it is really interesting to understand our business from a different angle.
2. What has been the most interesting area you have covered so far?
It has been really interesting to understand the buying cycle from the customers’ point of view. I can safely say that I didn’t fully understand how and why the buyer approaches a company prior to this course. It has only been three months, but I am already understanding how the buyer perceives a company and what you must do to stay on their same wavelength at each stage of the buying cycle in order to close a sale.
3. Have you managed to apply any of the learning to your role?
Definitely. My current role with Coinadrink is in Digital Marketing, so being able to understand how a customer perceives a company and the factors that influence their intention to buy has really helped me market our products and services. It’s still early days, but I am excited to develop this further.
4. Have you continued to receive support and guidance from Coinadrink Limited?
Yes, as always. My manager regularly checks in with me and my colleagues to ask how we’re finding everything. We feel confident to approach him with any problems.

Alistair has been with us over four years now. This is the second time he has undertaken an apprenticeship at the company, following his recent Digital Marketing course.
He is just one of our employees who is keen to expand their knowledge and understanding with our help. We are always keen to support our team with their professional careers, which is just one of the reasons why we have recently retained our Investors in People Gold Accreditation.
We are delighted with the progress Alistair is making with the Sales Apprenticeship course and are looking forward to seeing his ongoing progress.
Make sure you check back across the rest of the week for further updates from our team.
