A vending machine business that inspires on World Teachers Day…
A key part of the culture at Coinadrink Limited is educating our employees for continuous improvement. Not only does this benefit our business as a trusted West Midlands vending machine operator, but the main purpose is to maximise the potential of our team in addition to customer satisfaction.
Let’s dive a little deeper to explore how we do this on World Teachers Day.
Coinadrink Limited is a vending machine operator that has provided a fantastic working environment since 1962.
With an average length of service of just under 13 years, the figures speak for themselves.
Beyond a pledge for fair pay that saw us earn the “Real Living Wage” accreditation earlier this year, the benefits of being an employee extend much further. Perhaps one of the most appreciated perks is the companies approved apprenticeship programme.
You may think apprenticeships are just for those who have recently left school, but that’s not true. They can be open to anyone who wants to learn and fulfil their potential.
Giving back to our team on World Teachers Day.
At Coinadrink, we have an approved apprenticeship programme in place that sees us work with a range of colleges and organisations to upskill our team.
This is a two-way approach whereby management are encouraged to seek out opportunities that they can present to their departments. Likewise, team members themselves are welcome to approach senior figures if they believe a certain course could benefit them.
Learning doesn’t just stop when you leave school or university, and we believe that education is one of the most valuable perks a business can offer their employees.
Our 70+ staff are responsible for our success as a trusted West Midlands vending machine operator.
Our apprenticeship programme is just one of the ways we give something back to our team, of whom we value enormously.
How this has helped fulfil the potential of our team.
Over the years we have upskilled a huge number of our employees, through apprenticeships ranging from engineering to sales and marketing.
This has opened many doors and allowed our team to closer reach their potential. The skills acquired immediately boost them in their current roles, but of course they can also be taken into future roles if they were to ever leave us.
Take Julie Jones, who successfully passed an 18-month Level 4 sales course in conjunction with Nine Dots Development in October 2022.
Julie, who was our Customer Development and Business Administrator, acquitted herself to the challenges of the course magnificently.
With Coinadrink’s help and support, she was able to tackle the workshops, activities, and the end point assessment with growing confidence, also applying the learning to her role with us.
Having passed the course 12 months ago, Julie is now reaping the rewards.
Not long after her success, she earned a deserved promotion to a Customer Support and Development Team Leader role and is thriving in the new position.
Success stories like Julie’s is what our apprenticeship programme is all about. And there are many more.
The learning doesn’t stop there…
You’ve heard how we consistently develop our staff’s potential through apprenticeships, but other examples of education are also for the benefit of our customers.
Take CIPS, bespoke software that stands for “Continuous Improvement of Performance”. Applicable to our field-based engineers and operators, CIPS helps flag human error on our part to ensure our high standards are always met.
For example, if a customer was to log a service call and the attending engineer finds the problem has been caused by human error when our operator has previously been to replenish the equipment, this would be flagged as a CIP.
The immediate purpose of this is to identify where team members could perhaps benefit from extra training, provided in-house.
Long term, the purpose is to then ensure service calls for avoidable issues are kept to a minimum and customer satisfaction remains high.
Inspiring each other on World Teachers Day.
Coinadrink is an environment that encourages everyone to be the best they can be, across all departments and even out in the field.
Our determination for education and to inspire our business for continuous improvement has seen the company earn the “Investors in People Gold” accreditation that we have continued to hold for a number of years.
Of course, the main beneficiaries are our customers, by providing a quality and reliable vending machine and refreshment service they expect.
