Well Wishers

Well Wishers are a registered charity located in our local Walsall Manor Hospital. They work closely with patients under the care of the hospital, helping to support both them and their families during what can be a very worrying time.

The charity’s mission is to have a positive impact on those using the services and to help those who need it most. Through valuable donations, they also provide resources and equipment to those who work for the NHS. Whilst all of us are well aware of the hard working nature of our NHS, Well Wishers support what they do and make their lives easier.

The charity have lots of success stories and 2020 has seen lots of local businesses come together to show their support during the pandemic.

A big thank you to the Best of Walsall, who supported us in our own support of the Well Wishers charity through our valued membership.

Supporting our hard-working NHS

Coinadrink has been a proud supporter of Well Wishers during 2020, when the COVID-19 impact has put a severe strain on our excellent NHS team.

We wanted to provide the opportunity for staff in ICU and high dependancy wards to have a well-deserved hot drink when they found the time, and twice during the pandemic we donated coffee machines and supplies to our local Walsall Manor Hospital.

We also did the same to the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton. Duncan Bedford, Executive Managing Director at the hospital, said “Our staff and patients are extremely grateful for your kind gestures. Thank you again for thinking of our staff in these difficult times.”

We were only too happy to support our hard-working NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic with the help of Well Wishers.
We supported the Christmas Wish List campaign through Well Wishers.

Christmas Wish List Campaign

Under normal circumstances, children under the care of the Walsall Manor Hospital at Christmas time could expect a Santa visit and lots of festive fun, but the pandemic unfortunately put a stop to it all. So Well Wishers reached out to local businesses towards the end of 2020 to ask for some toy and gift donations as a way to retain that festive smile.

Coinadrink was only too happy to help out and show our support. And together with a collection of other local businesses, we donated over £500 worth of toys and gifts through the Well Wishers charity.

The proud sponsors of Ian’s Walk

We teamed up with the Well Wishers charity to sponsor Ian’s Walk, which took place on Sunday 27th June 2021.

Ian’s Walk covered a whopping 26 miles from Walsall Manor Hospital to Chasewater, and back again after some light refreshments staged by Coinadrink at Burntwood Rugby Club. The event was hosted by Ian Hawkins, who owes his life to the Critical Care Rehabilitation Team at the hospital after suffering badly with Covid-19 last year.

The hike brought the local community together and will hopefully reach the intended target of £10,000.
